For me nothing says, “Miami,” more than
chongas, Pitbull, bottle rats, Vanilla Ice, Scarface, Versailles croquetas Missoni. For my second look for the ELLE Decor Modern Life Concept House, I was asked to pair a decidedly Magic City ensemble with the home’s Fernando Wong-landscaped exterior which boasts dreamy trees, vibrant orchids and lush palms — and chose, you guessed it, a colorful Missoni number. There’s something to be said of the Italian family-owned brand’s expert use of hues and textiles — not to mention their pieces travel so well. Truth be told, I could live in their creations. Too-cute-for-words Margherita Missoni, do you hear me? Hook a zig-zag-loving zealot up.
I kid. Okay, not really.
Anyhoo, I spent the entire morning piecing together my Art
Boozel Basel plan of attack and it’s been decided I’ll be attending some cray events. These private soirees include a Kanye West performance art piece with artist Vanessa Beecroft at Mana Wynwood (if Kim‘s there, I’ll take one for the team and ask her how she lost all that damn baby weight so fast), a Boy George performance, Kendrick Lamar and Tegan and Sara concerts, a swanky Louis Vuitton BBQ, a Harper’s ShopBAZAAR brunch and a few more soirees.
There’s also reports that Lady Gaga, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Gerard Butler and Princess Eugenie are making stints this year. And fellow Greek and perennial playboy Stavros Niarchos is throwing a blowout and you KNOW I’m coaxing him into throwing back copious ouzo shots with moi even though it’s a Dom Pérignon party. A little birdie told me George Clooney is coming, too, but I’d rather hang with fashion bloggirls Chiara Ferragni and Leandra Medine who are also in the 305.
And while Art Basel is oozing with nighttime excess, lest not forget that the week is about the art, and I’ll be soaking in the sights of some inspiring pieces at Scope, Pulse and Design Miami.
Can’t. Hardly. Wait.
