Confession: I’m a learning junkie. I’m not one to be complacent in one stagnant place. Often times this is interpreted as being capricious, but I like to think I have a zest for life. So when The Standard Spa Miami offered me to take a self-help class entitled The Creative Insight Journey with self-help author Jennifer Grace, I was all over it like my husband on the TV during the NFL season.
The 8-week course takes place once a week and yesterday was the first class. The crux of the course? To learn how to tap into your creative source. I’ve learned lots of sage nuggets of truths but I will share with you the notions I enjoyed the most such as:
• Creative people aren’t only artists in the generic sense! Everyone has a creative energy within them.
• Creatives have high self-esteem, a positive attitude toward failure, intuition, passion, playfulness and fun!
• Have faith in your creativity — have no expectations.
Jennifer also asks us to journal first thing in the morning for 5 minutes, which has been eye-opening as well. I’ll be sure to share more tips on tapping into your inner creativity as I learn more. On that note, are you guys digging my geek chic look above? Don’t I look like the prodigal pupil?
{When asked to buy a journal and 3-ring binder for the class, I of course went to Barnes & Noble because the ones at Office Depot are fug.}
Love the geeky look and the positive attitude!
You know it, Architect of Style!
Nothing gets me more excited than notebooks and binders from b&n. Nothing.
Mariella, this is why we are style soul sisters.
Love your chambray and I love the notebook…smart phones are way overrated…there is nothing like a pretty notebook to keep you focused 😉
