{Before and after my Ohh! Lashes appointment}
What’s even better than the prospect of an Orange is the New Black marathon, kids? Eyelash Extensions. Duh! When Eyelash Ninja Tamara Lake-Mair invited me out to her chic Coral Gables-based eyelash studio, Ohh! Lashes, I was over-the-moon because:
1) I’m in the histrionic throes of a quarter-life crisis (Read: “fat days” are occurring on a regular basis and I feel bad about the elasticity of my skin. And ass. And pore size. And boobs. AND…
2) My natural eyelashes are shorter than an Oompa Loompa (although I do respect their high regard for perpetual tans)
Tamara uses Novalash lashes and her mission? To change the face of semi-permanent eyelash extensions one meticulously placed lash at a time. I know, total tall order! My full set appointment (starting at $100 — depending on how dramatic you want to go) took one and a half hours — where I, you guessed it!, feel asleep a dreamed about marrying Tom Brady and awakening with the lithe and sculpted body of Giselle Bundchen.
Well, that didn’t happen.
However, I did wake up to marvelous lashes for daysssss. My lashes look fuller and longer and not too Mrs. Snuffleupaggus-like — in other words, they look natural with a dash of drama. Winning! Tamara tells me to pop into her studio every three weeks to keep up the volume ($85 for 45 minutes).
Take that, Giselle.

Been wanting to try this too. How long do they last?
And she’s in the Gables!
hahahaha. you can write about loose leaf paper and make it a fun read! thanks for the morning laugh babe. xo
I wonder if the removal affects your natural lashes… My best friend got something similar and it ripped out her natural eyelashes when she took the fake ones off =/ Since then, I’ve been terrified to try anythig like this.
Your eyes look great though! I wish I had your eye color 🙂
Tatiana, This can certainly happen. Tamara tells me this happens when people use too-heavy extensions (which eventually break off the natural ones).
