Designer Alvin Valley Coming to Miami And You’re Invited!

{Where are my pants? Alvin Valley can fix that dilemma this Saturday}

Blast from the past true story, class: Back in my Ransom Everglades days, bestie Vivi and I would dip out during lunch and visit a crazy haired fella by the name of Alvin Valley whom worked at a nearby boutique. Alvin attended UM at the time (after graduating from Gulliver) where he studied architecture by day and partied like a college kid by night (didn’t we all?). During our gab seshes, Alvin would share his wild tales, while Vivi and I listened as though he were a living, breathing episode of 90210. Obvi, we were totes obsessed.

Since his days as a shopboy, Alvin created his own eponymous line in ’95 which boasted THE WORLD’S GREATEST PANT FIT and tees and sold them from his own Grove-based boutique on Commodore Plaza. At the prodding of NYC socialites, Alvin packed his bags and moved to New York where in ’07, he sold his name to the Moret Group. Well, Alvin recently bought it back. And with that said, he’s bring his sexy pant back. (Sing that last line like Justin Timberlake would — it will sound better.) Alvin’s throwing his second U.S. trunkshow in Miami (Boston being the first) and asked me to host alongside himself and my gal pals Liana, Monica and Melissa, which is so sweet. Bible, Alvin’s pants will change your life. “It’s always about going back to the basics. And the pants keep calling me back. I’m reclaiming it and owning it,” Alvin says of his comeback.
