With less than a week until Christmas, it’s gift-buying crunch time, folks. And I’ve got six more prezzies to purchase. With that said, my son and I hit Aventura Mall bright and early today to knock off the remaining names on our list — plus ourselves, of course.
This picture taken in J. Crew summarizes our shopping jaunt quite nicely. Me? I’m happy as a clam trying on this $88 leopard-print top and my son? Well, look at that mug. He’s très ticked off to be in a confined area and not frolicking about the indoor play gym around the corner. Boo hoo.
Current trends in department stores include pops of neon colors (see Alice + Olivia frock pictured here), jeans in jewel tones (also photographed) and sales buses galore in both Bloomingdales and Nordstrom stores (yes!). I also stumbled upon just-opened Unknown boutique where the merchandising can be best described as street-meets-tech-chic — check out that plentitude of iPads and Nike kicks. Pretty amaze.
The little man and I were quite victorious…until he looted the Juicy Couture candy display in Nordstrom. Let’s just say he ransacked the entire bowl of Hershey’s Kisses. And rock candy. And candy canes. Don’t. Say. A. Word.
