Tupelo Honey

Friends! Sorry I took a little hiatus there. I just got back from a long weekend in New York (because this mama needed a vacay from tending to three other humans). Sometimes, we all need an adult time-out if you catch my drift here. You know… relishing the luxury of sleeping past 7:20 a.m. Drinking one too many cosmos. Dancing to Lil Jon until 2 a.m. Noshing at fancy restaurants. Burning up that AmEx card on Fifth Avenue. Judge all you want. I work hard and play hard. BELIEVE DAT.

Anyhoo, my husband (God bless him for holding up the fort while I was away) snapped these pics of me just before I jumped on the plane. I wore some key basic pieces (a Feel the Piece side-zipper top and Frame Denim jeans) freshly gleamed from Miami’s own Tupelo Honey. For those of you not-in-the-know, Tupelo Honey has two locations (in Aventura and South Miami) and their selection of denim (think Frame Denim, AG, Rag & Bone, Mother, Citizens of Humanity and more) and simple yet utilitarian tops (from James Perse, Feel the Piece, Vince and then some) is bar none the best in the 305. The notion this family-owned boutique has been biz for 40 years is noteworthy, too. The owner, Ira, and his son, Jordan, are unequivocally cool cats, too, making the whole shopping experience a memorable one.

Also noteworthy? The growing diameter of my ass after this past weekend’s gluttony fest in the Big Apple. I literally ate myself into a food coma every single day which means I’ll be pretending as though I’m a contestant on The Biggest Loser the rest of this week. But every bite was well worth it — especially the crack pie from Momofuku. I’ll be sure to share the trip with you all this week because some funny shenanigans — as you can very well imagine — went down in the City That Never Sleeps.

I just said I so need a great veil just a few days ago – not too fancy that I can’t style it casually. Very cool.

First off, props to the hubby for these fab shots…I mean, that profile pic is stunning!
You look super cool, as usual.
So happy you had a fab time in NYC…and please tell me about all the uninterrupted meals you ate. Like I don’t even know what those are anymore.
