I know, I know, everyone — including your mom, bestie and crazy aunt Sue — has a pair of these omnipresent skorts. Yes, these skorts spread like wildfire over the summer and now into fall (I’ve spotted black and snakeskin versions here), but there’s valid reasoning behind this sartorial conundrum: They’re really chic, affordable and easy. Emphasis on the easy part.
As a mother of two, I know this much is true: When shopping or pulling together an outfit nowadays, I always reach for basic pieces — as in a classic white blouse, or these envelope skorts. I’ll throw in some statement pieces, like this long strand of pearls and a DIY Dia de Los Muertos mask freshly plucked from Michael’s (I kid…it was hanging around my girl Dani Diaz’s house…I just had to…) to add some zing. And to stand apart from the masses!

HOT! I love the mask, that is the best part. Do I sniff I side biz-nass here? So creative!
You look amazeballs in that cute outfit! And I must make those masks right now.
So cute. And yes, I have the same one too!
You’re rocking the skorts well and I must say great job on the skull design. It’s a great effect!Happy early Halloween. 🙂
