Sayonara, 2014! You were really good to me. Like, too good. The highlights reel from my 2014 movie would include the following big deals: Learning to ski and navigate the blue trails of Vail, Colorado all ALONE (because I’m directionally challenged)… Exploring New York City with my daughter Ava and teaching her that Uggs — while offensive to the naked eye — are the best winter boot… Pilates is still, hand’s down, my favorite workout in obtaining a tight ass… Barry’s Bootcamp, on the other hand, is sheer torture but the best in fat blasting… Traveling to the British Virgin Islands taught me that bliss is just a boat trip away… I’m acutely allergic to eyelash extensions (FACK!)… Winning the Racked.com award for Miami’s Best Fashion Blogger… There’s nothing sweeter than the words, “I love you, mommy” when uttered from my son‘s lips… Learning to say “no” more… Knowing that my marrying my husband was my greatest decision in life… Understanding that my family is everything. Those crazy Greeks and Argentines are like instant Serotonin boosters.
As I reflect back on 2014, there were lows, naturally, and there are certain aspects I radically yearn to change in 2015. Some are deeply personal, while some goals are as basic as volunteering more, negating the Negative Nellies from my life, ingesting less sugar (I think I’m addicted!), listening more/talking less and reconnecting with friends I miss over a cup of coffee. Or glasses of wine. Yes, most likely, wine. Cakebread sauvignon blanc to be exact.
On that note, cheers to you in 2015. May it bring you much health, happiness and laughs (emphasis on the “laughs” part).
