While I do love the usual handbag suspects — Prada, Miu Miu, Balenciaga, Chanel — there’s something to be said of indie labels. Aside from the fact that EVERYONE AND THEIR MOM, GRANDMA, SISTER AND YOUR CRAZY AUNT TINA won’t own them, under-the-radar labels always exude an, “Ooh, where did you get THAT??,” response from passersby. And such is the case with Miami-based handbag line Vintage Reign. The duo behind the brand, Cory Papunen and Stacy Studnik, also happen to be cousins and have a knack for creating impeccable clutches, totes and even belt bags (yes — as in the nerdy-camera-toting-Euro-tourist-type but Vintage Reign’s version is anything but dorktastic. Swearskies.) I own the Cici (photographed here ), Big Boo, Pappa and Traveler and am eyeing the Wild Animal. I also love that their prices don’t leave my checking account seeing zeroes. Now that’s clutch.
