When gal pal Liana rolled in with her sock bun at a recent event at Neiman Marcus it caused quite the kerfuffle. Always one to up the ante when it comes to fashion, Liana told us, “It’s not a sock bun, it’s a donut bun.” Oh, snap! So of course I interrogated/BBMed/borderline-harassed her as to how my readers can score the dubiously named donut bun. First of all, go to your local drugstore or Target and go to the Goody hair aisle. Buy the $7 contraption that looks like a Brillo pad in the shape of a donut below:

After you’re done your little I-purchased-something-fresh-to-death victory dance follow these easy steps:

    1.    Make a ponytail in your hair where you want the bun.
    2.    Pull your ponytail through the center of the hair donut.
    3.    Wrap your hair around it as you go. Make sure you’re covering the donut as you go.
    4.    When you’ve reached the base of your ponytail, tuck in any remaining ends and make sure the donut is covered with hair.
    5.    Ta da! That is one sexy seven-dollar bun you’ve got there!
