{Christian Louboutin Otrot sandals, Citizens of Humanity Emerson jeans}
No picture could better sum up the past three-day weekend: It was an unmitigated party (just like these Louboutins) and I now find myself sprawled on the floor (drowning in a ceaseless sea of emails, laundry, science projects and deadlines WHILE HUNGOVER). Emphasis on the “while hungover” part thus the all caps for added drama and special effects.
While a complete blur, I’m fairly certain I spent the holiday on Fisher Island flanked by my family and closest friends. We spent our days beachside with a big ol’ bucket of ice cold Whispering Angel while the kids plucked starfish, snails and crabs from the sea like little Jacques Cousteaus. One of my favorite pastimes as a child was sifting through the sands of the Jersey Shore so when I see them emulating the same, it makes my heart flutter.
Aside from reconnecting with my friends, eating spaghetti bolognese (God, I love sinful carbs and miss them so —they’re a panacea for any woe), drinking copious Tito’s with lemonade and teaching the kids about manatees — the highlight began on day one when my son got his cast taken off! Here are some snapshots from our trip to Utopia.
