Attention Target Customers…

Ehr-ma-gawd I looove me some Target. But in all honesty, I’m not a rabid fan of their designer collaborations because I’m always disappointed with the poor quality of the clothes, accessories, housewares, etc. The Mulberry bags were downright offensive to my corneas and don’t get me started with how quickly my Prabal Gurung tee fell apart into a trillion pretty pieces after ONE WASH CYCLE. How about that Neiman Marcus collab? Totally overpriced and an epic retail fail according to how quickly the merch went on sale. And that Eugenia Kim fedora? Yeah, mine literally melted in the sun last summer. In my opinion, the Missoni line hit the nail on the nose but that’s just about it. But…I almost cut a bitch over a saucer, so you do the math, eh?

So when I caught word this a.m. that Tar-jey is collaborating with esteemed designer Phillip Lim on an exclusive collection for women and men (available Sept. 15 and is priced $19 to $299), the Lim-loving freak in me got très excited. And scared. But Lim’s legitimacy within the fashion realm has me riled up again. 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target will feature a range of apparel and accessories, including shoes, bags and travel accessories — and yes, I’ll be in line, hoping for a Target designer collab renaissance. And here’s to hoping my purchases don’t disintegrate after one wear.

I love this post because you’ve hit it right on the nail. I was rather disappointed in my purchase from the Prabal collabo. I got a tunic shirt I can’t wear for one second without it wrinkling up like balled up paper. It’s a rather embarrassing sight. It now takes up space in my closet. I hope Phil can turn it around. 🙂 -Danny
