Call me a creep but I have always been drawn toward the macabre. Without divulging too much, the novel offers the harrowing account of an inappropriate relationship between a 45-year-old teacher, Jacob Strane, and his 15-year-old student, Vanessa Wye. You see how Jacob grooms Vanessa and manipulates her into believing that she willingly engaged in this relationship.
Yes, it’s disturbing but, again, the tome is superbly written and impossible to put down.
