{A fashion dream}

If you have a Juicy velour track suit (or 30), raise your hand. Ok, you can let it go down now. Today The Wordy Girl hosted eight gal pals at Neiman Marcus Merrick Park to celebrate the new line, Skaist-Taylor, by the founders of Juicy CouturePamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash Taylor. You can only imagine my excitement when asked to do so because I’ve been a Juicy Couture freak since they rolled out their first yummy terry pant.

Anyhoo, Pam and Gela sold Juicy and have embarked on a new journey called Skaist-Taylor. The line is very much California girl-meets-highbrow-New-Yorker. My friends and I ate up the collection and took a particular liking to a fur-lined band boy jacket and custom python booties (which aren’t for sale but should be…HINT HINT, P&G!).

Not one to rest on their laurels, Gela says, “When we sold Juicy, it wasn’t over for us. We are fashion obsessed so this collection encompasses everything we love right now. Besides, I get to work with my best friend. It’s a dream!” Pam chimed in, “This collection is fun. We don’t want to be told what to do.”

The blonde besties chatted with the crowd and exuded a quintessential California vibe — down to Pam’s dip-dye blue-hair. Which now has me dreaming of finally dying my ends purple or pink. Should I do it, kids?

    Im begging you to stop selling fur. Millions of poor innocent creatures are tortured and so frightened to be a part of fashion…… so so sad . it is not right.

    omg how AMAZING do you look. Super glam. I don’t know if dip dye is for you. I had purple though it’s a good color to start with. It doesn’t fade too grossly like teal does. Teal is my next color option but the maintenance has me procrastinating. Love the jacket and the boots you loved, but also those shorts!!

    Totes agree, Ria. Dip-dye is so not for me! But I’ve been yearning to do it since OCTOBER.

    Please stop the use of real fur. It is so wrong to subject beautiful and innocent animals to this torture. It is not too late to correct your decisions. Have a heart and a soul.

    This line looks tacky and cheap. The last thing people want to see is FUR on excessively skinnnt models. Maybe being in the fashion world makes you loose sight of the fact that thousands of animals WILL be tortured for your clothing line. Skinned alive, beaten, tortured all for fashion? When you have a platform you should use it for good. I am so disgusted I will NEVER buy ANY of your clothes, that goes for juicy also and I will spread the word to all my friends and co-workers! Go furrless before it completely ruins your reputation!

    GO FURLESS! These women are sitting around thinking their relevant while thousands of wild animals are SKINNED alive, TORTURED, BEATEN, and ANALLY electrocuted for SKAIST TAYLOR fashion! These women should made to see what the animals go through to become a lining for a jacket! Truly disgusting and sad!

    Horrified to see these formerly “fur-free” fashionistas covered in dead animals. How insensitive, greedy, desperate and cold hearted can they be?
