If Reese, Angelina, Charlize and Salma got all gussied up last night for the Golden Globes, well, why can’t I, too? Exactly. I will because I can! Who bloody cares if I can’t act and my hair’s dirty as sin? (Say that last sentence in a faux Madonna-esque British accent — it will sound better.) I’m going to put on a stoic face (photographed here) and rock this mother like only The Wordy Girl can. Take that, LiLo. Oh snap, was she even there??
The ridiculously ridiculous (that’s good in my book, FYI) dress? A Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman-designed Marchesa gown topped off with Jimmy Choo silver heels. Marchesa has been a red carpet staple ever since 2004 and a Rachel Zoe fan favorite.
I’ve owned this ornate gown for three years now and today is the first day it’s ever left the confines of my closet. With that said, wearing this luminous number was thrilling! I’d like to think the E! Fashion Police would give this look two thumbs up if it were on Paula Patton dripping in Harry Winston baubles.
Fun fashion fact: The company’s namesake and muse, Marchesa Luisa Casati, is the noted eccentric European style icon.
