For the past year and a half, a spa day was SO not in my future, but that all changed when I visited Doctor Barbara Sturm‘s freshly minted spa and boutique in the Miami Design District. If her name rings a bell, it’s because she invented the vampire facial — one of my all-time favorite skincare treatments. The novel Miami-based door marks the celebrity skin doctor’s fourth brick-and-mortar with sister locations in Los Angeles, London and Düsseldorf.
The sun-filled space boasts a minimalist aesthetic with pops of blue, pink and purple (and peacocks, no less) — where the German-born doctor’s goods are the main eye candy. Yes, you can scoop up your favorite Dr. Barbara Sturm cream, cleanser, serum, drops and more when you pop in.
I received the 60-minute Summer Facial ($195) with Aesthetician Jasmine and was seriously impressed with the results. The extractions were bar none and my mug was left ultra hydrated. “In the summer, we need extra protection against UVA and UVB rays, pollution and environmental stressors. I created this facial to calm, soothe, hydrate and protect your skin. Healthy skin protected by a strong skin barrier is the most functional, radiant and glowing,” Dr. Sturm says on the Summer Facial.
The end result? This facial visibly calms irritation caused by environmental factors and deeply hydrates and revives the skin to leave dull complexions with a perfect summer glow. Ka-Pow!
Dr. Sturm’s fabled MC1 cream AKA “blood cream” — a moisturizer that takes proteins from a patient’s blood and mixes them with hyaluronic acid — is sadly not available for purchase yet but you know I will be scoring that legendary goodie once it’s offered because I am always searching for the most results-driven goods on the market for you all.
