The family and I just returned from a 2-night stay on the chic island of Cat Cay — a private isle located in South Bimini, Bahamas. Shoutout to Chris and Noelle G. for hosting us!
And thanks to its members-only status, you won’t find boats blasting tiki tiki/reggaeton music and throngs of g-string thongs. PRAISE BE TO JESUS. Sue me for being uppity, but when it comes to traveling, The Wordy Girl does not play. And neither should you because you only live once and tiki tiki music and proper vacations are like Solange Knowles and Jay Z in confined spaces — meaning they don’t mix well, obvi.
This past weekend, the kids swam with wild dolphins (I was not that brave… Bimini happens to be hammerhead shark central… THANKS, Shark Week!), explored a sunken shipwreck and made new friends. The adults, on the other hand, drank copious rosé and rum. Me? I did what I do best — plopped my butt in the sand and soaked in the glorious Bahamian sun for hours while talking smack with my friends. I completely disconnected from social media (#detox) and it was a much-needed break. With summer break mere days away, I cannot wait to make more jaunts to the Bahamas mon.

Tiki tiki music is the best description ever. I hateeeeee. I have the same vacation ideals in mind unfortunately my boyfriend isn’t quite there yet. Hardest person to convert to a snob I’ve ever dated. I’m not giving up though lol. I loved following along on Insta on this trip. Definitely would not have been in the water with those dolphins either but you gotta figure if they’re not alarmed at the moment you shouldn’t be either. lol.
