One thing about me? I’ll squint at my phone, a recipe box and possibly the meaning of life – before I ever put on my readers. So when the Kindle Colorsoft came across my desk, I knew I had to get my hands on it. I’ve never owned an e-reader before and this was my first purchase as I was lured by the “color” element. At first, I wasn’t impressed with the intensity of the color display but once I got to tinker with the device, I am OBSESSED. Here are some key points that resonate with me as a self-professed bibliophiles:
♥ You can change the font size to granny-friendly levels. This is the case for most e-readers. Hooray for tossing those pesky readers to the wayside!
♥ The battery life is insane – a single charge lasts 8 weeks.
♥ The screen adapts to your surroundings. This being said, it will light up/darken according to your environment. On my recent flight to Paris, it would automatically light up as the cabin dimmed. Brilliant.
♥ The screen is also glare free and waterproof – making it a better option than reading off your iPhone or iPad.
♥ Amazon offers a massive selection of tomes. You can access over 15 million titles in the Kindle Store worldwide and you can add a Kindle Unlimited subscription for all-you-can read access to a catalog including best sellers.
♥ While the colors are NOT vibrant (welp), seeing my book covers in color, gives me unreasonable joy. Browsing the library is easier, because the colors make the covers look more distinctive.
♥ This iteration of the Kindle boasts a comfortable design and is easy and light enough to hold for long reads.
