I’ve Gone Native…Really

It’s pretty safe to say that turning 40 has made me a health nut. Yep, in a concerted effort to make myself the happiest and healthiest possible, I’ve gone gluten-free with my diet (trying to go dairy-free slowly, too), eradicated all candles and scented plug-ins from my home, use “green” cleaning products and now… I made the switch to an all-natural deodorant called Native ($12) and available here.

This is not a sponsored post — I just wanted to share my latest non-toxic beauty obsession with you all because unlike the other eco-friendly deodorants on the shelves, Native’s coconut and vanilla scent whisks me to a tropical beach and it actually works!

So why make the switch to an all-natural deodorant, you ask? Aluminum is a toxin found in antiperspirants that is linked to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s. Parabens — also found in most deodorants at your local drug store — mimic estrogen and disrupt your hormonal balance. Native Deodorant is made without aluminum and parabens. In fact, it’s comprised with simple ingredients such as beeswax, baking soda, coconut oil and shea butter which naturally fight odors instead of masking them with unnecessary and suspect chemicals found in antiperspirants (aluminum, talc, parabens).

So if you want to smell good and feel good about what you slather on to your body, I think you will love it, too.

Lovely. I think I saw this kind of deodorant at a mall. I want to try it.
