Falalalalala…Smurf Feet!

One of the things I’ll miss most about my 5-year-old daughter Ava (yes, her feet are behemothic like her mama’s — shoe sales will be an invariable nightmare for her, too) going back to school is getting mani/pedis with her. We have quite the party picking our colors out and as usual — being the stubborn as a mule Aries Ava is — she chooses the exact opposite of what I suggest she choose. Like today, she chose Smurf blue in lieu of a fresh-to-death neon pink I was obsessing over for her.

Which brings me to the crux of this post and the name of my go-to summer piggie polish pick: For the past two months, I was on a mission (yes, a MISSION, no kid) to find the perfect turquoise because my go-to gurl Essie (you know, ’cause we’re “friends”) didn’t pull through on this one. Her blues were a tad too Avatar for me, so off to CVS I went. And you know what? Good ol’ faithful, cheap-o-la Wet n Wild nailed the perfect minty-blue with their hue called Need a Refresh-Mint.

So if you, too, find the blues at your nail salon too Cookie Monster, too Katy Perry’s hair, too…well, you get the picture…hit your local drugstore singing Falalalalala for some cheap thrills.
