We skied all day (watch yo’ back, Lindsey Vonn). We wiped out (BIG TIME). We guzzled shots (enough to rival Snookie of The Jersey Shore fame, no less). We ate until our bellies exploded (I crushed roughly 3.5 chicken pot pies, personally speaking). We danced à la Channing Tatum. We were merry like Santa Claus. We took two-hour naps like it was our job. I completed reading one novel. Isn’t that what vacation is all about?
Yep!
Since 2012, we’ve been visiting Like No Place on Earth (AKA) Vail, Colorado and I have to say this annual trip just keeps getting better and better mostly because my entire family can finally ski together without the help of an instructor.
We always go President’s Day Weekend because the snow this time of year allows for excellent ski conditions (Read: All. The. Powder.) And since we’re a party of 7, we always stay at the ski-in-and-out condos at Antlers. We typically cook every night because we fall asleep at 8 p.m. due to the two-hour time difference, but when we do find the energy to dine out, our favorite restaurants include Sweet Basil, Alpen Rose and Matsuhisa. For shopping, a trip to Vail is incomplete without a pitstop to Gorsuch where the outerwear selection is FIRE.
I hope you enjoy these pictures from our trip and the tips.
