Prior to Covid, I was never a makeup person. But that all changed after falling into endless YouTube makeup tutorial wormholes with Vogue, Kim Kardashian, James Charles and Nikki Tutorials. I also learned lots of makeup hacks with Miami-based Natalie Gee of Gee Beauty on her Instagram. Side note: Jeffree Star makes me wanna puke. Ew.
Glad I got that off my chest!
10,001 hours on YouTube and the ‘Gram later — and I am slowly but surely learning the importance of primers, the magic of contour, and how a bouncy Beauty Blender may just very well be the Eighth Wonder of the World. Without further ado, here are the products (and where-to-buy links) I am loving right now in the exact order I use them:
- Augustinus Bader the rich cream to moisturize
- Mac Cosmetics fix spray to prime the skin
- I apply a drop Lumify drops into each eye to whiten and brighten ’em
- After trying them all, my fave dewy foundations are Armani Luminous Silk foundation (#5.5) and Koh Gen Do aqua foundation (#143)
- I blend my foundation with a MOIST BeautyBlender makeup sponge
- Next, I conceal under my eyes with the Holy Grail of concealers — Clé de Peau. Other fave under-eye concealers include It Cosmetics and Tarte Shape Tape
- Now, I contour my cheekbones, hairline and sides of my nose with Gee Beauty foundation multi-stick in Spice color
- I blend my contour upwards with a moist BeautyBlender sponge
- I “bake” the areas I used concealer with with the Holy Grail of loose setting powders — Laura Mercier (with my BeautyBlender, natch)
- I create natural brows with the Anastasia brow power duo
- For creamy blush, I am loving the Charlotte Tilbury beach stick in Moon Beach hue
- For eyeshadow, I use my Gee Beauty bronzer
- I prime my lashes with Grande Cosmetics primer
- My fave mascaras are Chanel inimitable intense mascara and Thrive Cosmetics mascara
- I highlight my cheekbones and tip of my nose with a Charlotte Tilbury wand
- I set my makeup with a spritz of my Mac Cosmetics fix spray
- My go-to lip hue is the perfect nude, Gee Beauty‘s A Gee Thing
- I tell myself out loud so the Universe can hear it: “You are beautiful!”
