Coconut-y, chocolate-y, nutty and buttery, my dear friend Valerie always bakes me Hello Dollies from scratch whenever she comes over. A totally sweet slam dunk, I asked her to share her family recipe with me for you all here and it’s pretty easy. Here goes!
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter
1 1/2 cup Graham cracker crumbs
1 can condensed milk
1 1/4 cup shredded coconut (regular, not unsweetened)
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup milk (or semi sweet) chocolate chips
PREPARATION
Preheat oven to 350
Layer a 9 X 13 pan with parchment paper for easy clean up
Melt the butter and pour over Graham crumbs in a bowl, mix well
Pack down in the pan
Pour the can of condensed milk over the crumbs in the pan to make an even layer
In a bowl mix the coconut, walnuts and chocolate chips
pour this mixture evenly over the condensed milk and graham layer
That’s it! Bake for around 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown
