My First Russian Manicure

Caviar, Leo Tolstoy, vodka, Tetris, matryoshka dolls, chess dominance — I just love a Russian moment, babes. So while I’m a bit late to the Russian manicure and pedicure trend, I just indulged in my first one ever at Brickell-based One L Brickell and am blown away. Bible!

With outposts peppered throughout New York, consider One L THE de facto Russian mani & pedi joint while in Miami. My teen Ava and her friend Alex told me about this magical spot and they didn’t lead me astray.

So what is a Russian mani for those-not-in-the-know? Well, it’s also known as a dry manicure (no water is utilized) and e-file manicure. Basically, the process revolves around super-detailed cuticle work done by electric nail bits (those little spinning tips), scissors or cuticle nippers and gel overlay (a nail enhancement where a gel layer is applied to the natural nail to strengthen and protect it without adding length). I particularly enjoyed getting both my mani and pedi done simultaneously. #TimeSaver

The end result? Ridiculously longer nail beds thanks to that intense cuticle removal and feet bottoms softer than a baby’s bum. The best part? The gel lasts 3 weeks with zero chips. Talk about nailing it!
