Lazy Daze

Another Texas Tuxedo! Shocker. I know, but with the bipolar weather here in Miami — one day it’s 60, the next it’s 80 and rainy — well, denim-on-denim is my go-to look when I’m feeling uninspired and lazy. A lopsided shirt tuck gives it a laid-back vibe.

As for my hair, my roots were kicking like karate in this picture, so I threw on a beanie to hide my 6-inch roots which I just colored (praise Jesus!) during my jaunt to NYC at Marie Robinson Salon (they color the likes of Tory Burch and Sofia Vergara). I added more highlights to my base and more brown to the bottom so it doesn’t look as ombré as before.

Between the snow, Super Bowl and Fashion Week buzz, New York was exhilarating. My daughter, mother-in-law and I took a girl’s trip to the Big Apple where we explored the Central Park Zoo, toyed around in FAO Schwartz and the American Girl Doll store, watched The Lion King on Broadway (Loved it! Cried!), caught up with friends and family, ate at my faves — Victor’s Cafe and The Smith — and celebrated an authentic Chinese New Year in,  you guessed it, Chinatown. We hit the shops on Fifth Avenue (three espressos deep, no less!) and I scored a new pair of ballet flats because I’ve worn the Valentino Rockstuds in this picture to death. And some other goodies, obvi.

Now I’m back. Back to reality. Sigh.
